I remember I read a different version of this story (Like they battled 1-1), and I researched it on the Internet, and this is what I found:
Romulus and Remus are supposed sons of Mars and a priestess called Rhea Silvia. The stroy started when the fromer king, Numitor (their grandfather) was disposed by his brother, Amulius. Rhea originally was not allowed to marry, because she was made Vestal Virgin by Amulius. That meant that she was made a virgin in the name of Vesta, the godess of hearth, and then she became the holy preistess of the temple. Then it is said that Mars because her spouse and she then had 2 twin boys known as: Romulus and Remus. Because Amulius was terrified, because he thought those two brothers would overthrow him from his rule, so he put them in a trough and threw them in the Tiber River with their unconsious mother, hoping they all would drown. The god Tiberinus saved Rhea, and the river flooded so the trough was washed out of the stream. They were then found by a she-wolf, who then took them in and raised them to be vicious and dominant. (They were abnormailly powerful because of the Mars parentage) When they were around a few years old, a shepard called Faustulus found them and raised them into adulthood in his own house. When they grew up, they killed Amulius, and decided to build a town where Faustulus had found them. Romulus started to build a wall, and the Remus laughed at how the walls were so low. Romulus was enraged, and slew Remus. Romulus called the city Rome (after himself) and became the sole ruler of Rome. He took a woman called Hersilia as his wife. Later on, Rome was deprived of women, so he stole many women from the Sabines, an Italian tribe. The Sabines came into war with Rome, and then had a treaty after the Sabine women decided to stay with their new husbands. The king of the Sabines, Titus Tatius, shared rule with Romulus until his death in battle. Later on, Romulus disappeared in a violent strom, and was -cont-

"hey emily! your version of the story is interesting and detailed, i love it =]
Just a side comment: wasn't Rhea one of the greek titans in greek mythology?" hi amyzhao, indeed Rhea was the wife of Cronos(called Saturn in Ancient Rome)and mother of Zeus(known as Jupiter by Romans),Poseidon(Neptune in Rome) and Hades(Pluto in Rome).

The romans had a ditch and a wall with a walkway on top surrounding their camp. The ditch was called an agga, the wall a fossa, and the walkway a vallum

I feel that it's not fair when some people do a LOT of contributions (mostly junk) and get their pics BIG on the top contributors, vs. people that put a lot of thought and length into their contributions (but don't contribute so much).
Remember the saying "Quantity doesn't mean Quality". So, I don't like the wetpaint system where they have the top contributor's page. It makes you want to rush and get a lot of conrtibutions in, while you just put one sentence in each one. I think teachers should seriously think about this and perhaps give contributions a high grade too. Then, people will start to be seriously contributing and typing (because of their grades) instead of just babbling and chatting here and there. I delete all messages I recieve that I think is just junk and more junk.
Still, I'm quite impressed at how this wiki is developing! I like this wiki a LOT.

When i woke up 4 in the morning then i noticed the onwers painting had a huge hole in the middle. When the owner woke up he saw the hole, he got the whip out and whipped me 20 times. The owner was swearing at me. But i keeped on saying that i didn't, the owner didnt believe me. Everytime i said that i didnt he would whip me 10 more times. When the whipping was done my back was ripped opened. Few minutes later a dog came in the room with part of the ripped painting in his mouth. The owner saw and patted the dog and said its alright.I will just buy another paint and then he left.

RE: Roman and Greek Gods
By: samwu,

"No. There are barely any difference. Romans took Greek gods and changed them around a bit. For example, Zeus is the same as Jupiter." Well, I just mean the names. Yes Romans were GREAT copy-cats. The main difference between them and the Greeks were that Greeks were the good architects, and the Romans were the good engineers. Is it also true that the Roman empire wouldn't be as well-known and famous if there wasn't the Etruscans, Greeks, etc.?

Why wouldn't there be an o?

I think the romans had alot of loyalty because they were paid, fed and lived well. I think life as a soldier was pretty good unless it comes to war because when you retire the government gives you a large chunk of land as a pay. I think that soldiers were forbidden to marry because then when they go to war, they would be focused on their family and not the war. And if the people die in war the wife and kids will be very sad.

Life in Rome is dangerous. My disguise ,if found out, will cost my life. As a young girl, I was entranced by the idea of democracy. A place where "anyone" could effect their daily life. But I learned ,the hard way, that all that was a lie. Only a few patricians could run for government in the shround of assassinations and deceivements. Where trust is a rare treasure and my lie as the disguise of a man made a web of complex lies. And yet, somehow I've tried to convince myself that this is for the good of everyone.

The Aqueduct is like modern day plumbing. People in Ancient Rome used the Aqueduct for washing, cleaning, drinking and many other things. We use modern day plumbing for the same reasons.
