The romans had a ditch and a wall with a walkway on top surrounding their camp. The ditch was called an agga, the wall a fossa, and the walkway a vallum

Rome invented the concrete and the Romans also invented the best sewages in the world, the roman;s were also good at building and engineering but not so good at inventing machines as there were lots of slaves do the dirty job. Romans invented central heating but it used slaves to do the work.
